Dr. Simpson specializes in psychological assessment, believing it to be a necessary first step to making changes. She is passionate about identifying and addressing concerns with development, such as autism. She believes that an excellent assessment can have a positive effect on the child who is struggling, as well as those around them, such as friends, family, and teachers. She views the testing process as collaborative, listening to the concerns of her clients and outlining practical recommendations and next steps for families. Dr. Simpson’s main goal is to help provide an answer to the presenting concerns of her families and assist families with evidence based treatments.
Outside of work, Dr. Simpson and her husband raise their two young children in the wonderful Northern Virginia area where they were born and raised. Her interests include going to dog parks, traveling, visiting local Virginia wineries, and advocating for youth with neurodevelopmental disabilities.
