Testing
Dr. Samantha (Sam) Sommer is a licensed clinical psychologist who recently joined the MindWell Psychology team in August 2025. She is also a nationally certified school psychologist (NCSP) who strives to apply her clinical skills across settings to support students both in school and at home. Her experience as a school psychologist gives her in-depth knowledge about the complexities of child development and behavior, as well as learning differences, measuring cognitive functioning and achievement, and policies and procedures related to students with disabilities. She works hard to provide a collaborative, supportive environment to develop and strengthen the skillsets of both children and their parents/guardians so that everyone can become experts in their behavior!

MORE ABOUT DR. SOMMER
Dr. Sommer primarily uses a cognitive-behavioral approach when providing psychotherapy to children and adolescents. She often utilizes evidence-based curriculums to support her sessions while incorporating mindfulness tools and client-centered activities. Dr. Sommer believes that collaboration with parents/guardians is crucial for client success. She helps parents/guardians gain confidence in understanding their child’s behavior and supports ways to generalize skills their child learns during sessions into the home setting.
Outside of MindWell Psychology, Dr. Sommer enjoys horseback riding and exploring hiking trails with her dog, Fiona!
