Dr. Madison has skills that enable her to work effectively with children, adolescents and adults who are facing challenges. Her current focus is conducting evaluations that examine the multiple factors that contribute to attention, learning or behavioral regulation difficulties. Her training and experience allow her to understand how cognitive, academic and emotional issues interact and impact people across their lifespans. Using a battery of tests that is tailored to the individual and adapted as testing progresses allows her to truly understand clients and convey findings in a way that allows them to understand their children or themselves. Discovering the underlying causes of the symptoms and carefully defining the strengths and weaknesses of the individual leads to a precise treatment plan for home, school and work.

Dr. Madison enjoys working with families in creative ways to help them adjust to developmental changes and behavioral issues. She has the ability to engage children who are reluctant to complete testing. Her reports are comprehensive and convey results in a way that allows parents to really understand their children, their strengths, and how to address their challenges. Recommendations are designed to provide a roadmap for resolving issues and connect families with any services they need to proceed after the feedback session. While testing is a major commitment of resources, most parents find that having a clear diagnostic picture and specific treatment plan leads to focused intervention. Thus, they avoid ineffective treatments that waste time, energy and money, and the family gets back on-track sooner. Contact MindWell today to schedule a consultation with Dr. Madison.
When Dr. Madison is not working, she spends time with her children and husband. Juggling a career, kids’ activities and the homework demands of Northern Virginia’s great school systems, she understands the need to make recommendations that families will actually have time to complete.
